Honestly, if I was in your position, I wouldn't start working yet. You will be working for the rest of your life. There is no reason to start at such a young age. Enjoy your childhood!

I disagree with that. Working is good for résumé building, and if you're like me and your parents make you pay for everything, you need a job to pay for your phone bills. Plus, if you can't afford to go to a good university, that might hurt you in the future of getting a job.

I guess that is where every family's situation is different. I was fortunate enough to not need a job, although I now have a job (Minetime). Although Josh has a point, I don't think it is completely necessary, regardless of what bills you need to pay (although I don't know what kind of bills a 14-year-old would need to pay).

Honestly, there is really no correct answer here, especially with the lack of information we have on your current financial situation.

Phone. Not really my family's financial situation, but the fact that they want me to be responsible and learn that nothin is free.
