Not only 1000 players join. Not the same people are always on, and @Starfletcher hosting the server is about 2k per month, then you have to pay for thr forums about 100 per month, and ddos protection from CloudFlare is REALLY expensive, then collin has to pay his employees, and pay for buycraft monthly, and trust me there's much more. Hosting even a really small server is 100, but not minetime

From what I have heard in the past (could now be expired information or I just remember it incorrectly) Minetime costs about 10k a month to host. (This could be completely incorrect not sure if I'm remembering it right :3)
