DDoS'ing is shutting off someone else's router/internet through their ip remotely, and DoS? I don't have a clue what that is.
DDoS- Distributed denial of service Two or more people send large packets of information to your router, subsequently shutting it down. DoS- Denial of service One person sends large packets of information to your router, subsequently shutting it down.
Well the first one isn't exactly completely right. A distributed DOS attack can also be the work of tons of "bot" computers that the attacker has access to (not legally).
Oh, thanks Dael. Now I know what it actually means. I should check on Wikipedia before I post something.
Yeah, I was going to say that I should check Wikipedia, but I thought thatt Google would be more un-vauge. Also, I just spelled vauge wrong, and un-vauge isn't a thing. I still don't know how to spell vauge, xD.
I made a forum post a while ago explaining how to stop DDoS and DoS a while back. Also, the way DDos and DoS (Distributed/Non-Distibuted Denial of Service Attacks) works is that the attacker will usually ping the victim with a large packet of useless information over and over again, essentially overloading the router's memory and buffer, temporarily shutting down the wireless. You can find my post on how to prevent DDoS here
