Seriously do they? Well i mean apart from mobs, I have seen no animals what so ever spawn! I haven't seen 1 single animal! it is so weird!
There were animals originally when the world was created, but if the animals are on a loaded chunk when entities are cleared, they get deleted so now all of the animals are gone. This is also why there are villages with no villagers. There may be a few animals left on rarely loaded chunks near the world border (5k blocks away from spawn), but I doubt it. I have not personally seen an animal on the server since 3 months after the last reset.
