Lately I've been noticing a lot of people "tryharding". This basically means they make something so they can become cool, popular, and hopefully (for them) staff. I'm not pointing fingers, but if you are trying to "overdo" things, think about why you are doing it. It's watering down the content. I've seen one helpful guide with essential but detailed information, while another with too much information- it becomes an online encyclopedia at that point. THINK OF THE CONTENT BREH
I agree. I kind of feel the 'guides' people were doing started off as helpful and guideful, but now and recently people just make them for attention, and it's obvious when they ask for a 'pin' just my opinion
Not all tryharders are bad people though. ( @Starfletcher rarely, he's beast, and even I was when I first started.)
I rarely tryhard. But sometimes, I do. I made my recent guide to help players, not to become staff. Because I know that I probably wont get it. And the applications will take long anyways. I do it to help others, so I appreciate what you said, but I am not beast, yo are. And I want this forum and server to become the best server. #1 on the list. But sadly, I don't think I will be there to see it grow into that. I know a few candidates that would make great helpers, but I also know a few tryhards that don't. Good thread very informative, and I am sure the tryhards out there will read this and think about their behaviour if their dream is to become a staff member please no hate on what I said, because I know, like always, a hater will come along and attempt to walk all over me my point is, and this is continuing from what Platinum said.. If you want to become staff, don't make guide after guide. Help people that you know need help, but don't make it visible you're tryharding or you will come exactly where I was back in mid 2014 I hope what I said inspires people, and they will read it.
This thread is scrutinizing those who put constant effort into guiding other players throughout Minetime's services. There is no shame in trying hard to become a staff member or just to be a better individual overall. I completely disagree with this thread. To those of you that have helped Minetime in any way: including being a donator, Build Team member, staff member, or even just a supportive player/forums user, keep doing what you're doing. You are a part of a larger cause on this server that is keeping it well rejuvenated. Dream big and assist anyway possible; it may just be beneficial in the long run! ;3
I once was a tryhard. Now I don't even want to be staff. I'm scared of the responsibilities and I'm afraid of not being good enough. Oh look anxiety kicking in again xD fml
