The plans are probably new plugins
They're probably not going to add another server because Minetime is a free-world pvp based server and Minetime has all of those types of servers already. The only server I could imagine them making is the Pirates game, where people are on different teams and the pirates try to invade the Defenders' base. Or they could just add a classic Mega Walls who knows.
Or they could change their server base all together and make it more "friendly" as in lesser hardcore PvP and more Arcade games. However the Arcade Server would kind of not have a point in being in Minetime because of the mass amount of hacks and the mass amount of time people spend on searching for good ones to pvp well, so that would ruin the gameplay.
OR the developers could just be waiting for the 1.9 update and create a 1.9 based minigame. Obviously the PvP servers existing currently would "die" because of the new pvp plugins that comes with 1.9. Take the sword hit delay for example. This could be the reason no one is leaking any news of the big plans, because they do not want to spoil the 1.9 surprise :P
Just a warning but you should probably not hope for something out of the world and amazing. The whole rule of Enabled Hacked Clients disables a lot of potential for awesome minigames, and that is why Minetime is as I said before a PvP based server. SIDE NOTE: I am not a hater of hacked clients I am just stating what it does to servers. I am also a hacker and I think hacks are awesome :)
Another possibility is Minetime could take a different turn and ban hacked clients, but that is not very likely because players mainly come to Minetime to kill noobs with their OP clients.
It would take Minetime's population from present to 30, but there are those people that are O.K. with the fact of hacks being banned. Banning hacks would also give a better impression for other people, and people mainly hate Minetime because of the hacks. It's also a possibility that Minetime's population would be even higher than it is now, and it is obvious that servers with 30,000 players ban hackers.
