?

Should there be a timer on dropped items in pvp so you cannot get scooped?

So we all know a very popular thing on Minetime and I am sure a few other servers is to scoop pvp kills. I would love to see implemented within the game the effect of a timer on the items dropped by a player that protects it for 10-15 even 5 seconds. Giving the player time to collect it and go without working for it and then getting nothing from people who fly in and out in the blink of an eye.

I don't like the idea, because It just doesn't seem like a thing for MineTime. I feel like scooping is part of the game, and it makes it more of a challenge.

The only way to do this would to be to lock the loot to the player that hit the target last. This will create more issues when you will have players running in attempting to get the last hit and then taking the loot.

You may also see an influx in poison potions, as then they would not even need to be in the arena, although I don’t know if the damage from a potion is considered player damage or server damage.

I guess the player would be required to stay in the arena to loot the corpse, but it wouldn’t be hard to survive in pvp for two seconds, especially when clients are able to loot everything from a chest in one button.

Honestly, I have lost a dub each piece if not more in the past 2 weeks to scooping, I get about 3 kills to every set I am able to pick up. I am willing to take the chance to have this within the game if it means saving me every other set I get scooped. And people run in and try and take the last hit already so it wouldn't change a whole lot within the server. I do however see where you are coming from, I was just on a spell of like 9 kills without any return at the time and was sick of kids running in with reg diamond armor gapping scooping and running out.

I know it's annoying, and I used to get annoyed when I was pvping on factions but hey, what's more Minetime than players screaming ''Lag'' and sending ddos threads to people for scooping.

This was a part of a plugin we added to Prison but it created conflicts so we had to remove it.
