I'd like to dedicate this post to Collin and the Staff Team of Minetime who generously give time day by day to make creative the exciting place it is today. Or at least 3 days ago, where anvils were not banned due to an incident with a player using custom clients to massively spawn anvils at spawn. Of course, Anvils are to blame for this tragic event...so to speak. Anvils don't randomly fall out of the sky like trees don't grow money. My point being that anvils are completely innocent to the anvil bombing incident at creative's spawn. To be fair, the player could have also chosen sand, and if that was the case, would sand be banned too? The case I am trying to make ladies and gentlemen is that creative is losing basic building necessities for very small prices. In the terms of anvils, we lose the privilege to rename items, craft enchanted items (using enchanted books) and a decorative block for the price of not making sure this happens to spawn again. However, hacks are still allowed on the Minetime server. With one disaster logically many are to follow it's leader. So due to these circumstances, we are to believe the anvil bombing of spawn will not happen again, but as I said earlier, sand has the same "falling out of the sky" properties as an anvil. I now direct my attention to redstone. Redstone is a tool used to create smart electrical engineering builds that can help creative. In the most basic forms, move blocks and push and pull. In an advanced form, conductors and what Collin concerns himself most at, Lag Machines. I believe it was a righteous choice to ban comparators and repeaters as many of its use would only be suitable for survival mode.(e.g Redstone Elevator, Redstone piston house etc.) I am still unsure for the reason why redstone is banned, but at the very least the Hopper should be unbanned. The Hopper can work as we know, without redstone and is used commonly in creative to connect to a chest in which the creator can collect lots of a thing. Due to the entire banning of redstone, a simple universal use of trading is gone. I am not sure how much harm a hopper can do as it cannot fall out of the sky, but I certainly believe hoppers should be brought back as it was the only universal trade tool other than dropping the item on the ground for another to pick up (which is shady business due to lag item clearing and others able to pick it up). Finally, World Edit. World edit is commands we can use to build efficiently, quickly, and easily. However in the past weeks our choice of commands have been gone. Nowadays, we can no longer use: //Fill, //Flip, //Brush, (a very important building tool) //Sphere (another important landscaping tool) Clipboard has been drained to only //Copy and //Paste and more. My main point is on //brush and //Sphere as many builds use this tool to smoothen a selection, create landscape, without needing to make it by hand. Without it, many builders are left frustrated to create this ALL BY HAND. I asked a Build Team Member ViolidCupcakes if he lost any of these commands in the build server, the answer? He didnt. Why are we suffering these cutbacks if the build team (who build) can still access these tools? Why can't be build things at the same level of a Build Team Member? To summaries: Bring back simple redstone (redstone, redstone blocks pistons and at least the hopper) so we can re-initiate trade amongst the creative community. (Go to a classic Head Shop if you don't know what i'm talking about). Bring back our old access to World Edit for all of us to have a fair go at building. Bring back Anvils (They are not to blame, let's face it). If you agree with me, please vote "I agree", if you don't please explain your reason. @CollinPotato @MinetimeSupport @MaiNameIsThai Thank you for your time. ~xNoodleGod
Did you read the whole thing... the reasons we lost these items are trivial, we're losing basic necessities for very small prices.
I agree with you, and I really do wish I could use redstone. After I watched @Popcorn84620's video, I'm sorry, but I think that it disproves your point. I am sorry.
Do you really think someone would fill his plot with furnaces on hoppers? At least hit "I agree" on the WE and Anvils thing :/
Hi, Anvils currently need to stay banned, as I have not yet been able to determine the cause of this exploit. If one of you can figure out how that exploit works, I'd really appreciate that. "In the terms of anvils, we lose the privilege to rename items, craft enchanted items (using enchanted books) and a decorative block" This is something I had not considered. Thank you for bringing this to my attention how useful anvils are. I will make sure they do not stay banned for long, but it may be out of my control. "but at the very least the Hopper should be unbanned" For some reason, hoppers cause corrupt chunks. Every time a hopper creates a corrupt chunk, I have to rollback a whole region (1,024 chunks, IIRC) of the Creative server. This is a huge pain for both me and the players. "Nowadays, we can no longer use: //Fill, //Flip, //Brush, (a very important building tool) //Sphere (another important landscaping tool) Clipboard has been drained to only //Copy and //Paste and more" Brush was disabled because it has major exploits (remember when people kept griefing the spawn? yeah, that was /br sphere). Sphere is disabled as a result of this anvil issue, but will hopefully be reenabled soon. I don't think players ever had /fill and /flip in the first place, but I have enabled them at your request. What clipboard commands are you missing?
Thanks for the tip, @Popcorn84620, now to cover up all the transport hoppers on my island with furnaces. @Thelidien, I believe that pistons should be brought back because of the want for redstone powered doors, but I do not think redstone repeaters or comparators should be brought back for the simple fact that people can and will create lag machines.
Woopsy Daisy forgot about that. My point was that if it was sand or gravel being fallen on spawn instead of anvils, would those blocks get banned too for it's involvement?
@ido_pieguy Thelidien, I believe that pistons should be brought back because of the want for redstone powered doors, but I do not think redstone repeaters or comparators should be brought back for the simple fact that people can and will create lag machines.[/QUOTE] I wasn't asking redstone repeaters or comparators to be brought back purely because it's main uses are more survival orientated (gives a good idea for Survival hmm?). But yes pistons are used for simple creative manners, and are mostly used for redstone powered doors and things. Not all of us want to cause total destruction you know :c
I suppose there's merit to both sides. Though we can't risk another big incident. Better safe than sorry.
It's a tough thing I'm asking for to give benefit for the creative server but i just really wanted to get out my points
