It took me well over 2 hours to complete it. (it's not very good. I wanted to hurry up the inside because my hand started cramping, also ignore the cow, and the bats.) 2013-12-24_23.43.30.png 2013-12-24_23.43.16.png 2013-12-24_23.43.42.png 2013-12-24_23.43.49.png 2013-12-24_23.43.52.png 2013-12-24_23.44.00.png

Yeah, I started on the flooring, then worked on the inside. My hand started cramping, so I just hurried up.

In my opinion, it's quite plain, not enough detail/depth, and kinda small.

I never build perfect rectangle/square houses. It makes it hard to add detail, so I make the structure stick out a bit and give it a good amount of height. From there I have many options of what to add to it.

As for the inside; it has an "empty" feeling to it. Big open floors like that are VERY hard to fill up unless it's a store where you can just put shelves everywhere. A higher ceiling for the main floor is always nice as well. If you add some decoration, divide the floor into sections with walls, and make each part of it have a real purpose, it could look quite nice.

Overall it's okay. It took me awhile to get used to building highly detailed things and it's very time consuming. Just keep trying to build different things until you find what you're best at :).

Lastly, here is a few tips to help you if you need it:
    - Avoid torches (Try to hide your lighting)
    - Try to avoid gold/diamond/emerald blocks
    - Add plenty of detail
    - Give it a good shape before anything else
    - Use colors that match
    - Add contrast so it doesn't all look the same
    - Be creative with it to make it more unique

    Hope this helps!

yeah u gotta take a lot more time to get into the build team or be a builder, some people take weeks and months on there build for builder or the build team not 2 hours think of something out side the box and make it look really nice

It's not bad, The builds on build.minetime.com have alot more details then your build though. detail is what I think you need to improve on the most.

ye its good but i agree with almost everyone else the inside is plain. i do like the carpet color and have nothing against bright lights however the inside is a bit plain and needs a bit more decoration. also try not to use torches redstone lamps are better as not only do they look better you can position them in the floors as well as on walls.
in the room with the four sections try putting walls to separate the rooms as it all seems quite badly put together (no offence) granted everything in there looks nice but they dont merge with each other very well and the enchantment room looks a bit lonely....
also on that topic you shouldn't have too bigger rooms. unless you are aiming for a hall rooms shouldn't really need to be bigger than 15x15x8 (that's what i work to) because it is really hard to decorate and just looks empty even with decoration as it is really really hard to get the balance right between empty and cramped the bigger the room. also the smaller the room the easier it is to light so that's something.
just quickly coming back to me earlier point you can edit the room proportions and i saw a bed in the back of the upstairs room. i mean if it is like the master bedroom then it can be as big as you want but in general if you have trouble lighting it with 5 redstone lamps the room is too big.
you dont have to take on any of this advice but one peice i urge you to is to not destroy that mansion its really good the interior just needs a bit of work.
    hope this helps :D
