They're there for a reason, to tell the poster that they used bad grammar. Just because I gave you 1 legit negative rating, that doesn't mean you should rage and make a useless thread saying to remove negative ratings..
I have like 2 legit ones then the others are just from enemy's hating all my posts atleast I never really rate posts bad
Well, I find it funny that you make a thread wanting the negative ratings to be removed, right after I give you 1 bad grammar/bad spelling rating and 1 disagree rating.
Next time you suggest something I would recommend telling us more than just "May we remove all bad ratings." Maybe why do you think we should remove them or how it would make the community better stuff like that.
I heard people gave other people negative ratings (bad grammar, CamelCase) Just because they removed dislike. I don't know if it's true. o3o
Exactly. People do you use the bad grammar and camelcase rating because they removed dislike. I will get bad grammar/spelling for no reason even though I have perfect grammar. Just bring back the dislike button.
I would say to bring back the dumb rating, but that's my opinion. Feel free to rate "agree" or "disagree".
It may not but it will lower your rep. (How? You may ask. Because if there's a new member and he see's how many neg ratings you have, (s)he may not like you/ hang out with you)
I know that this thread is about removing bad ratings. However, I'd rather see some of the ratings brought back. At least the dislike rating. I just feel that a one-sided representation of people (Only positive) is quite pointless. I feel that the removal of these ratings devalues the rating system and the forums as a whole. For that matter, ever since the removal of the last legitimate negative rating (dislike) I have felt that the rating system is now mostly superficial, unless you have really bad grammar you won't get any bad ratings (Discounting abuse). As long as there is a rating system, a small subset of users will abuse/misuse it, so this isn't really a valid excuse for having removed ratings in my opinion (Rating abuse will always be a frustrating problem no matter what ratings we have or remove). Furthermore, action is taken against users who misuse the rating system, so it's not like people could go crazy on the ratings (At least not without getting banned). I mean, I agree with the removal of the "dumb" rating, not because of its supposed "abuse", but rather because of the derogatory nature of people calling each other dumb. However, unlike dumb, dislike does not really have such an insulting connotation. I feel that people just overreact for no reason when they receive a rating. The thing that people need to understand though, is that (with the exception of camel case and spelling/grammar) ratings are just an opinion, not a fact. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean it's the end of the world, some people may agree with your opinion and others may not. If you post something that is annoying or rude to another user they may give you a dislike, and they should have every right to do so. Your received ratings should be a representation of public opinion, not just one side of public opinion, but both. If you are a nice person and you choose your words carefully and do not incite fights/issues with others, then you will likely receive very few negative ratings. (Sorry for my long-winded speech here. As you can probably tell, I feel very passionately about this. Anyways, that's my opinion, thanks for reading.) tl;dr Bad ratings aren't bad, we should add dislike back.
Actually, your friend heyskings gave me all negative ratings. He gave me -45 negative ratings. This is very upsetting, because I am not able to get all of these to be removed. I'm very sick of all the negative ratings I got, it's upsetting. And if you haven't noticed this is against the rules to spam negative ratings.
Seeing the reactions of the rating system does show the maturity level of some users. As it was said in a very... very... VERY... long speech, the dislike rating should come back. === It honestly bothers you that you have a red number on your profile that probably half of the community doesn't even know what it is for?
Dislike needs to come back. The most annoying part was their reasoning. "We have removed dislike to help make the server more family-friendly". Out of ALL of the not family-friendly things here, that will not help make this server family-friendly.
