I have already wasted 2mil on nether wart trying to get it started, i think that the 35% dying system is an ok idea, but you never stopped to realize that nether wart has 2 growth stages and each time there is a 35% chance for it to die, to me that is bs because there is now more of a chance for it to ******* die than live please fix this. also, you telling us that we can maintain a steady farm and make profit off of it is bullcrap because there is less than a 50% chance for it to grow to its full size which would mean your farm will slowly die off. At this rate mining is the best source of income and mining gets boring after 1hour max i don't care who you are, so people will gradually stop playing because of this nether wart crap. Edit: i agree with the nerfing of the nether wart, but there is plenty of other ways to do it as in making it towhee it takes 24 hours or so to grow fully or where you get maybe 20k per sell instead of 40k i would take those any day over this 35% chance crap.

Well, netherwart grows in 4 stages according to the wiki. So, assuming you are right and it has a 35% chance to die at every stage instead of just total, there is actually an 82.15% chance of it dying all together. Ouch. This is because at the first stage, 35 out of 100 die, leaving 65. At the second stage, 22.75 out of the remaining 65 die, leaving 42.25. At the third stage, 14.7875 die out of the remaining 42.25, leaving 27.4626. At the final growth, 9.611875 die. Overall, about 82.15 out of every 100 netherwarts will die before reaching full maturity. #MathFTW Thank you for reporting this.
If you planted 10, approximately 2 would survive. Netherwats give about 2-4 from harvesting, so you'd plant 10 warts, 2 would live leaving you with a max of 8 from harvesting. and it would dwindle down so on and so forth. I'd hold off on planting warts until this thread is either disproven or until the issue is fixed.
Yeah I thought it was the planting that was an issue.. This needs to be fixed, i am so mad right now.
i got a good farm started over 2 stacks of warts i sell warts 400k each. Only 1 problem it takes forever to grow i am just sitting AFK for hours waiting for the mo grow .... Literally
