So, FactionsUUIDs has gone through some huge updates over the past month, particularly with the addition of new features to the plugin. I have been hesitant to update the plugin, because of the many new features and things that have been changed with the update, so I wanted to ask you guys: Should we update our Factions plugin on Prison & Factions to use the new features, or would you rather stay with the current version? Here are some of the (potential) features that would be implemented with an update: Faction Permissions - As Faction leader, you will have the ability to edit what your faction members can or cannot do, all via GUI. Co-leaders - A new rank that was added, it is essentially the leader of a faction... the only thing you cannot do is disband. /f fly - An ability added that would allow you to fly in your faction's territory. Faction Warps - The ability to set warps that faction members could warp - you could also protect the warp with a password.
If you're going to have faction warps, make it so the leader can set who is able to access them or not rather than putting a password, because someone could still guess the password. /f fly is 50% good, 50% bad. Overall I wouldn't add it, it makes everything too easy, eg if you're being raided then all you need to do is fly to the top of your base and chill, or if you're making a base it'd be lot easier. I think these are great ideas, but factions is dead... There really isn't much this will do to revive the current reset, it'd be much better if added to a future reset.
I like these Ideas, It would really help me if I can fly in my faction land but I think you should have to be Admin rank or higher for that.
So is every faction going to be disband for the new factions to be added because if that is the case then 100% disagree.
I like most of these ideas however I think /fly will be abused in base defences and raids. If you are unable to /fly in combat like how Kit PvP is set up then it should be fine.
I can confirm that it's possible to configure /f fly so that it is automatically disabled when there is an enemy within a certain radius.
I do like the co-leader thats pretty cool. I say NO to the /f fly because that will just be freaking annoying and stupid, I also say NO to faction warps, I like that the only way to get to our faction bases is our /homes and that leaves us only a certain amount of /homes which keeps thing enteresting, I think faction warp is a little to much, so NO to that. So I guess I am 50/50. also some players are saying why is minetime worrying about a faction plugin which isn't broken instead of worrying about fixing regen?
I'm not saying we're not worrying about regen, I've been looking into patching regen hacks for months now, it's just I haven't found anything.
100% Support, Given you can't /f fly when there are enemies nearby and that it's only on your faction's territory in my opinion it's not too OP but a rather useful tool. As for the Permissions GUI It'd save new players the trouble of doing /f help cause all your perms are right there in the GUI. Co-Leaders will be useful as sometimes my faction members need help when I'm not online, but it also provides a lot of potential for being able to get insided as well as to inside other factions.
Make the /f fly and warp in faction. People without rank could set warps like homes so it could be fair.
I am thinking about doing the following for the update: Add /f perm - This allows leaders to change the various permissions members, mods or co-leaders can modify with the faction (e.g. you could enable all members to be able to invite people, probably not a good idea though). Enable faction economy - It will cost money to create a faction now and claim land. You will be able to deposit money into the "Faction Bank" which you can use for various tasks like claiming land and setting faction warps. You will also be able to pay other factions. Add /f warp - You will be able to set up to five warps in faction territories. Note: It will cost moneyto set a warp and you will be able to password protect your warps. /f fly will not be implemented immediately in the next update, but we will continue to look at the advantages/disadvantages of having it and making it balanced.
