@anar hajiyev tends to get defensive when he doesn't need to.

If you get a server hosted (MCProHosting for example), they usually provide DDOS protection. The stronger, the better.

That sucks. Hopefully the DDOSer will be punished. I'm pretty sure it's illegal.

Sadly since I don't know who it is I can't do anything about it. I was subject to a make-shift dos attack, it's pretty much a weaker version of ddos.

One question - Do you even have valid proof that you're getting attacked by a DoS and/or DDoS?

I really have no clue. To be blunt I'm not very good with computers; one of my more tech savvy friends said that someone is increasing my ping by a unbelievable amount.

How is telling him how to prevent a DDoS ignorant? Did you just learn the word or do you just don't know what it is?

Because you don't know what you're talking about. And I just checked logs, you've had the same IP for the last few months. So nice try ;)

I assume you're talking about a DDoS attack on your home connection. Even if you knew who the attacker was, there'd be nothing you could really do to them as DDoS attacks on home connections don't even qualify for legal action.

However, you could always call your ISP's abuse department and ask them to change your IP. This is why I recommend always using a VPN. I use www.privateinternetaccess.com. It's usually over 200mbps, so it doesn't really slow me down at all. It also lets you choose from a number of different locations.

Are there any risks of using a free VPN?
