Hello all, I'm thinking of taking up some programming classes but I'm unsure of which language I should learn. www.devsaran.com/blog/10-best-programming-languages-2015-you-should-know I'm interested in programming for games, software and security. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!
can go balls deep in java/scala or go with html, or with something easy like python/visual basic. codeacademy is good and free
I'd absolutely learn Java, JavaScript, and probably SQL. You can have a good future if you learn those. If you plan on developing a website, learn HTML and CSS.
java and html, html is a language that is used for a lot of websites and minecraft runs on java. If you want an easier code to learn, i suggest javascript, it's less complicated.
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll begin with Java first, perhaps take some Java courses during my holidays.
Go with Java, avoid Python like the plague. I talked with someone who got their BA in computer sciences, he told me two important points: 1.) the language you use is dependent on what you are trying to accomplish. The best languages are C++ and Java because they are the most flexible. Difference between C++ and Java? Simple: your tastes. Choose what fits you, but stay away from Python. 2.) go to the library, the best way to learn code is surprisingly through books. You can mix it with an online course, but use books, that is a must. If you can take a college course as well, it will help in huge ways. I hope I helped! Good luck with learning mate!
I couldn't help you with this as I never really wanted to get into game development besides learning iOS and Android app development after college. Whenever you decide what you want to learn I'd recommend Udemy, Treehouse, and/or thenewboston. Udemy and Treehouse have some courses that cost money, but it's worth it and I've learned a lot of Java, and some HTML/CSS from both sites. I believe thenewboston's courses are all free, but I've only watched a few Java tutorials. I've heard many great reviews about them though. I know Udemy and Treehouse both have apps so you can learn anywhere, but I'm not sure about thenewboston. Good-luck on whatever path you choose! :)
http://www.sololearn.com/Course/Java/ This'll teach you a lot that you will need to know, just won't explain half of the things. Just go around searching etc. A good way to learn is to start coding a plugin and if you don't know how to do something, then search it up.
