Hello Minetimers, I am here today to provide you with an update on the state of Minetime. This was originally just going to be a thread where I released the maps and announced the date at which the goodbye server will come online, but there has been a change of plans. Minetime is going to be headed in a different direction than I originally anticipated -- and I think we will all agree that this is for the better. Once again, please take the time to read this entire thread before responding. In the previous announcement thread, I listed these reasons why I was shutting Minetime down instead of selling it or transferring it to someone else: It wouldn't feel right just selling this entire community to someone else Minetime has certain assets that I wish to keep (such as the forums and domain names) It would be extremely difficult to explain to anyone else how to run every facet of this network and I would be getting dragged back into it for months After I closed Minetime, dozens of other server owners approached me about purchasing the network. I declined these requests for various reasons until I was ultimately approached by someone I know very well: Noobcrew. Noobcrew and I have known each other for years and we are very similar in many ways. We both run Minecraft networks, we're close to each other in age and we have similar personalities. Despite living hundreds of miles away from each other, we have also met each other in person on several occasions. Noobcrew's new ownership of Minetime solves all the problems I initially listed. I know Noobcrew, so I'm not transferring ownership of Minetime to a random person. Noobcrew knows how to run Minecraft networks very well (he owns Mineverse and Skyblock.net), so I won't be getting continually dragged back in to Minecraft to help him run things. We've even worked out a deal where I will retain ownership of certain assets such as the domain name. I'm confident in Noobcrew's ability to run the network. I'm sure you all have many questions regarding Noobcrew's acquisition and what this means for the network. As I am not Noobcrew, I don't have the answers to most of these questions, but I will answer what I can below. Is there still going to be a goodbye server? Because the network will be coming back online, there won't be a goodbye server. Are the worlds still going to be available to download? No. The most important world for you all to have would have been Creative's plot world, and I'd wager that Noobcrew isn't going to reset the Creative server because there is no reason to do so. Isn't Minetime on Mojang's blacklist, though? Yes, but Noobcrew is currently in talks with Mojang about getting it removed from the blacklist. Mojang is responsive and has provided Noobcrew with instructions on how to get Minetime removed from the blacklist. Minetime should be off the blacklist soon. Are you still leaving for good? Yes, I'm still leaving Minecraft entirely, but I'll check back in on this community from time to time. When will Minetime come back online? Is Minetime going to retain its current staff? Which servers are going to be reset, if any? You will need to contact Noobcrew about questions like these. How can we contact Noobcrew? He will be posting an announcement thread shortly. Thank you for your patience through my change of plans. I will be sending out an email to all forum users with a link to this thread. Hopefully a good amount of you will stick around through this change in ownership. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
Collinnnnnnnnnnnnn ty <3 I'm so glad minetime will be back up. Life is over yet Noobcrew were counting on you
Does this mean that none of the servers have reset and we will have everything as if the server never closed? DDDD
Yes. EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure. That is a question for Brandon. The servers will be the same as they were prior to the closure.
I do not mind. Noobcrew definitely has a lot more experience in running a Minecraft server than what I do, and I will still be around, so there isn't too much of a reason for me to be displeased.
