I read on Keemstar's twitter today about some servers who are being blocked by mojang for violation of their EULA policy, and minetime was on the list. at first i didn't believe it because why should i listen to some random guy on twitter but it is in fact real, its actually on mojangs website along with 31 other servers. This just happened so i dont think anyone really knows but what is for the future of minetime? links: Keemstar: https://twitter.com/KEEMSTAR/status/726289940942884865 Mojang: sessionserver.mojang.com/blockedservers
After seeing what other server administrators have posted, as long as players connect with the version 1.9.2 or lower, you'll still be able to play Minetime. This will not cause Minetime to die, as our servers are still 1.8 compatible. Let's be honest, 1.9 sucks anyway. The Minetime Administrators are currently handling the situation, and it's under control, there is nothing to worry about.
Ehh, not getting shut down, but getting blocked worldwide by Mojang in the new update Not believing everything you read is a good tip, but in this case it was actually true :/
It is 100% true, but appears to only be effecting versions 1.9.3 and up from this point on. This server and quite a few others have been contacted by Mojang for violating the EULA. However the server will still live on in versions 1.8-1.9.2. There honestly isn't anything to worry about and I imagine there will end up being a work-around solution to this at some point, so that MineTime can update to 1.9.3+ and beyond.
Basically mojang are blocking you using minetime on 1.9? Wow just shows how much power mojang has in its hands! Also I don't really think this ban will be permenent, I think it's just until minetime agrees and makes changes to agree with elula
That would make the most sense. Unfortunately only the Owners have access to the original email from Mojang asking them to comply with the EULA, so I imagine only they know if they can get themselves out of it or not.
I imagine that the server will either not comply and possibly fade out as more updates are released Or comply, and the ranks perks will be changed. This probably wouldn't affect anyone that bought ranks before this happened so I wouldn't worry much.
If you really want to know, you can search up minetime's IP here: https://blocklist.tcpr.ca/ it should appear on there saying that it'll get blacklisted. Here's a twitter statement (not from official mojang employee) showing a partial list of servers that will get blacklisted. https://twitter.com/KEEMSTAR/status/726289940942884865 The picture in the tweet comes from this webpage of encrypted text: https://sessionserver.mojang.com/blockedservers If you decrypt it, you'll get the ip of servers that will be blocked.
So will we lose the rank we donated for? if that is the case many ranks are a lot of money so people would leave almost immediately. I guess its better to keep this on forums so people don't panic tho, not till there is a formal announcement by of the admins.
