I appreciate your concern and am aware that 1.9 will come with some much more significant alterations to the way the game functions than previous uodates, which is why I have been saying that it will probably be quite some time before we try to update as we will have to wait for all the plugin devs to update their plugins that we use. I assure you that you do not have to worry about us trying to force updates that will break the servers, a proper amount of time, research, and testing will go into it and we will not update until everything appears to work in a satisfactory manner. The reset was mainly for an overhaul of the system, adding new features, and changing some of the base plugins to improve user experience. We are currently in the process of improving many of our servers based on user feedback and fixing any known issues. At this time I do not believe that we will need any map resets for 1.9, it should mostly be updating existing plugins, not replacing them. Well, you just have to trust that the game developers know their audience and fully understand what they are doing. Worrying and complaining about something that you have not seen and hasn't happened yet probably won't help your future outlook on it. If you spend so much time now saying how it will ruin everything, then when the update is released it is likely that confirmation bias will ensure that it does ruin everything for you. You're probably better off approaching it as "It will be interesting to see how these changes effect the gameplay and how well can I adapt to be the best at the new style" instead of "It will ruin the status quo that I currently exist in".
