Hello Minetimers! Ok, as many of you may know many people who have alternative(alt) accounts or friends can easily repeat challenges on daily basis, I've got approximate number but in 1 day a person with an Alt can get up to $ 5000 as well as a spawner and a beacon not counting the large amount of emeralds, diamonds, sand, grass, and other stuff, which greatly devalues ranks and a lot of items, since a person can get everyday the amount of spawner equal to the amount of ALTs the person has. This is done by ALT resetting the island, which also resets the challenges, however the challenges are reset every 24 hours. First question, why are diamonds and emeralds are still so expensive since probably we can now get them so fast and without waiting for another day. Second question which probably relates to the first one, Isn't;t that extremely OP? I mean while people with ranks and easy access to all the materials grow exponentially richer while the unranked people are still trying to get money by selling food? Solution: Maybe challenges should be deleted? Or binded 1 challenge per player disregarding the island reset? Thanks for reading Vector_Kid
Technically, this isn't abusing. If you complete challenges on an alt account it's just like another player completing them, even if you give them the supplies (as you can give other players supplies for challenges).
Im fine with alts compeliting the challenges, the problem rises when the alts repaet them over and over again.
This also influences the economic aspet of the server, for instance as the peoples in baltop 1 will get more money, the higher the donor ranks will cost in skyblock currency, and since non-ranked people have hard time earning money, this will slowdown rank purchase. However, that's my guess.
It could be considered abuse, but an alternative account is not needed. Simply complete the challenges, give your loot to a trusted friend or player, reset your island and repeat. So literally it can't count as abuse if everybody has a chance of doing it.
Remember people don't only buy ranks for one server, ranks transfer to every server in the network, giving the donators an overall advantage over the unranked. And yes the exploits could somehow become a problem, just like it did on the old pvpfest, but in the skyblock server, its alot harder to commit these exploits as it takes to long to do them, and many people don't have the sufficient patience to do so repeatedly. And the challenges take a while to complete. And once you become overpowered, you get bored. So many of the people doing the exploits will most likely get bored and quit the server this is only from my point of view.
Deleting challenges altogether is a bit drastic, especially for a problem like this. Because everyone can do this, as tigerishabyss6 explained, no one should get too frustrated or upset about this. Hopefully, we will be able to get past this "half-cheating," and use this exploit to our advantage, to further our amazing islands, ultimately, relationships and lives.
Just letting ya know don't double post ok next time just edit your previous post or shove both lots of posts into one ok
Sorry i wrote wrong, restarting island does not reset challenges, challgnes reset when a person first adds ti someones idland, and then leaves to create his own. that's when challenges reset.
I have already brought this up with @Tyler long ago and I feel the only way to fix this obvious exploit would be to bind the challenges to players and not islands. Yes, this is abusing an exploit and I feel that users that have preformed the exploit should have their balances reset. I am predicting that most users that disagree with this are the ones that have done it.
But if you re-do the challenges.... then what's the problem? It's like me starting an island and doing the challenges then giving my items to my alt (or completing them on my alt, and giving them to my main account). Or, if you keep re-doing them, then so what if you get money for it? You're still doing the challenge...
I don't really see how this is an issue? If a player wants to reset their island to re-do the challenges, then let them. The easier challenges give you very small rewards so it's not like they can get to baltop 1, just from doing the first few challenges. Also, if they want to do the harder challenges, then once again, I don't see an issue as it will take a long time for the player to gather the resources to complete the harder challenges again.
