Hello Minetimers! It is now January 14 and the submission period for helper applications is over. The staff and I are now in the phase 2/3 of process: selection. After the selection process is over and the new helpers have been chosen, there will be a brief period in which the staff and I choose what permissions helpers are going to have across the network and setup the helper rank. I estimated that the selection process would take 2 to 3 days. Unfortunately, the process may actually take up to a week as I neglected to initially consider that Emily would be taking finals around the time the submission period ends. Finals are the reason she's been a bit inactive lately. I skimmed over some of the applications already out of curiosity and was quite impressed. I was especially touched to see things like this submitted by very young people. Many of you have been asking how many helpers we're going to select. There is no specific amount we plan on accepting, and no limit to how many we're going to accept. If you must have an estimate, I'd say we're going to accept anywhere from 25 to 100 (but I truly have no idea yet). Good luck to everyone who applied! Lately, I have noticed that a large amount of threads have been spiraling off-topic. I'm going to talk about this there so that everyone sees it. Some examples of this can be found here, here and almost any time someone asks me to fix zombie infection leveling. I'm not speaking to any one person in specific, but please try to be better about keeping threads on-topic. Thanks! EDIT 1/16: Emily and I have begun removing some of the applications we're not accepting from public view. Please don't take it personally if your application wasn't accepted. The main reason applications have been rejected so far is for their false answers to the "How long have you been playing on Minetime?" question. Minetime has only been up for 8 months. Many responses say things like "over a year" or "since 2012".
25 minimum?!?!? Thats a large amount of helpers on every server. But, judging the fact that so many people submitted applications, its an even amount.
I remember who wrote that! Also I hope I did this right but I just copy pasted someone's post and then deleted their answers and added mine. I hope I did this right!!
Thanks for the information collin. Most of us have been itching to know how many helpers will be accepted.
About a couple hundred people (Maybe more, maybe less) Will either be very happy or a little sad. But, there's always next time. Maybe one of the helpers is a hacker. I don't hack, but maybe one of them is plotting to destroy the server .
Thanks for telling me! anyone who reads this I wish them all good luck if I don't get it I hope you do!
Thanks so much Collin I have been so curios/nervous ( I don't know why ) Just to find out who gets it !
Good luck to everybody who submitted an application And good luck to Emily on the finals, I have my mid terms next week also so I'm going to be doing a lot of studying!
I like the idea of having 25-100 helpers to be chosen. Everyone has a good chance so GOOD LUCK every1!!
Good luck everyone! And 25-100 my hopes for Helper have risen just a little bit. Anyways Good luck to all :3
I am scared, nervous is a better word actually. I've never actually had a chance to prove myself, maybe never will. Before finding this server, I used to love helping people in my school. It's just the satisfaction you get when people start to like you and refer you to other people who might have a problem. Also I don't know why but I hate seeing people upset, I have to be honest I'm a very sensitive guy. I hope this is my chance to prove myself, I've noticed a lot of people who are asking for help and advice lately and i hope it could be partly me who gives them that advice and help. Good luck to all and help those MineTimers!
I wish everyone the best of luck when it comes to getting the new positions. Minetime has already taught me so much in the few weeks i have been apart of it and i cant wait to meet new people and become more of true member in the minetime community!
