If you get the client source code you could stop that and I know a place where I can get nearly every public clients source code out there right now. No I wouldn't want a tournament on a super laggy griefed up server. I don't even play Minetime that much anymore as well. Sure go ahead fix up the problems but I was just using it as an example how Minetime really doesn't interact with its community much. Sure you guys sometimes reply those suggestions but I remember when a guy called Dexsta made a brilliant idea for a server called gladiators and drt took a dump on it saying it would take too long to code when more developers could have been hired. What I really mean is this. Yes I would want all the bugs filtered out and the terrain reset but that's mainly what Minetime does really only patch servers and bugs by now, after empires has been released that's all you have been doing and you have had months to do this, yes I know more bugs have popped up recently but that does not give you the excuse to begin the work on a new gamemodes to make Minetime more fun and unique because if you ask me the only main things that actually make Minetime different to any or server is the allowed use of modified/Hacked clients. Also, if players get bored of a server it is usually the game mode or the server they play. I don't really think the powerful players here can move server because by now they are really attached to hacked clients and would just get banned. That's why those players quit for good after getting bored. Also for the extremely dedicated and active Minetimers, say if they play prison and they quit because they did everything they could like reaching legend. You should have ranks to the point to 150 million on prison because that way it will take extremely for a player quits. What I mean is that Minetime could have easily made the goals you do a lot higher and longer to do but they don't. If I missed anything I said I am sorry because it is 1 am where I live. This is the best argument I have had in ages just saying.
Wooooowww. Woowwwwww. Woooowwww. @Jess I'm pretty sure a rule against hackers would be miles better than allowing hackers all together. Also, to defeat the fact that "half" the minetime community would still hack, keep up the rule for around a week and put the announcement on both the server and the forums. If people don't stop hacking then, tough. Their fault not ours. Simple.
Yes, some of what's been going on recently has been about terrain resets and fixing other issues related to lag or glitches/exploits, but certainly not all of it. The creative server received a complete rework, a new creative plugin, larger plots, new spawn, update to 1.8, etc... The factions server received several additions recommended by players, we brought back the old spawn that everyone loved, larger and improved shop, a no-exit pvp area and an update to 1.8. The prison server also received a new no-exit pvp arena as suggested by several players and an update to 1.8. When the skyblock server reset a while back, the plugin that managed it was changed to a better one, the starting island setup was improved, and the spawn was put into a separate world to fix several issues. All of that is on top of the many bug fixes and lag fixes that no one ever notices. Currently, a plan for the complete rework of survival is being laid out that is likely to completely change that server based on popular suggestions by players that play it. Yes, we are well aware that, besides empires (which, unfortunately hasn't been turning out so well), no new gamemodes have been added in a while. However, as stated earlier, our primary focus is going to be working on what we already have. Yes a few of the long-time players are bored, again, we understand and accept that that happens, but there are several thousand other players that aren't. After we finish working the current servers, we will probably be replacing the Hunger Games server with something new. Smaller suggestions, like more ranks on prison, would have been perfectly feasible, and if it had been suggested before the prison reset, may have even been implemented. However, even then, there are already no perks to the rank legend besides a cool title, and nothing that we can realistically add as perks for higher ranks without making it too over powered. Also, once you're free and have a netherwart farm, making money becomes kind of trivial and isn't really a challenge anymore. So, yes, more ranks may have given some players a higher goal to aspire to, but, in the end, it still wouldn't be that much of a grand challenge. Instead, the challenge once you're that high of a rank is to simply get better at the game than your immediate competition. The greatest challenge of all is outdoing the other players that you are competing with, the challenge to try to be the best. This has indeed been one of the more interesting and stimulating arguments that I've been involved in recently. If nothing else, I've certainly found it to be enjoyable up to this point, it's nice talking with someone who is aware of the finer points of arguing their thoughts and ideas without it degenerating to petty insults, for that I must thank you.
Minetime, we don't need anymore RESETS. We need new features! Stop resetting things! People rather play new things then reset, reset, reset! Other people get mad when they lose their rank..
The bug fixes you stated that nobody ever notices should be in the change log topic but Drtshock just stopped for some reason updating it for some reason. The rework on survival sounds good. You should have a topic so you can inform us more easily when this type of stuff happens including the hunger games remake too, I suggest you add maps more often to at least make some people go back on to that to see what is new (another thing to put in changelog). I would agree that many people are not playing empires but here is why I think why. When you go straight on to it there is not really anything you can do is turn on nuker and destroy the terrain. It is completely vanilla, if somebody wants an actual server always up they would go to mcprohosting or some other hoster but I know a few places where I can get this kind of stuff for free What empires need is a goal and more features or at least a 7 day trial of what having a bucket empires server is like as the player would have the chance to experience what it is like and some players might make so much progress on the server during the trial they want it to be premium so they may actually pay for the hosting of the server because they do not want to lose all their progress. Asides from that I have a few suggestions for perks on prison that are not too over powered. Maybe cosmetic perks would be the way to go for this like you can adjust the colours in your name to be more noticed in chat, just a suggestion. I would also like to say more perks and ranks in the prison servers were suggested it was just that nothing was really done, you can always add stuff like this next reset anyways I also remember the old days of prison when I was the best heck I am the 3rd ever billionaire on it and was classed the 4th best pvper of the server and co-owner of one of the top know factions, the days when people knew me and feared me in pvp (Secret message behind this statement ). I never really lost interest because it would always be the same people would be there to fight and I would win. I am sure you know what it feels like too Anyway this is really fun, usually when I argue with somebody and I have tried to prove my point most people would try to go off topic and try insult me or say "But still". You don't do that is which what I love about this.
Most of this information shows up in the announcements section or in the section of the server that the information is related to. An occasional bit of information may also show up in Collin's status messages or twitter feed. I do not think that there will be any new maps for hunger games as it is likely being replaced with something else. Yes, the changelog section has become a bit underused lately, but all relevant information is still out there. Empires has run into several severe issues and it appears that, for the time being, development has stopped. Normally there would be the ability to add plugins and do most of what a normal server could do. The goal behind it being, essentially, running your own server on a place where there should already be a readily available player base and MineTime would have all the little back-end things handled. Unfortunately, it has not worked out as well as we hoped, despite the best efforts of the developers working on it. Hmm, well I'm not too sure about changing your colors in chat, that could make chat a little too "busy", but yeah, I'm sure there are some cosmetic perks that could be looked into. Thanks for the idea, it will definitely be worth considering for the next time we do any work on prison, though that will probably still be a while.
Yeah you can find it but I mean you can use the change log to tell us what is happening so we don't have to keep hopping to Collins Twitter feed and the server announcements and it would be more handy if it was mentioned in the change log as well but there really isn't any need for it but at the same time it would be nice. Yeah nobody really goes on hunger games at this point that I know, 2 suggestions in the far future that would take LOADS OF WORK unless you hire a lot more devs is this. Have a sword art online style server, anybody who watches anime would agree with this statement right away. I would actually guarantee, if developed well of course. Your server may earn a 500+ player base because nobody has did this yet. But that's just my opinion. A replacement with empires is a competitive pvp server where you have ranked and u ranked matches. Donators get unlimited ranked matches while regulars get 10 and you can choose a ladder and by that I mean by what weapons and inventory and fight another player, if you win your elo goes up and if you lose it goes down.
