As you guys may know, I am Tovahbot.

Over the last 6 months there have been an extreme amount of "DDosd" from people who want other peoples loot and or dont like a specific player. This ddosd has been executed by getting another players skype and resolving it to get their IP. This is not only ruins life for the player getting ddosd, but also for their family who use the internet. Is there anyway that the server can stop this from happening?? I have heard of plugins to stop this, but I dont understand them. This Ddosd needs to stop becuase I see players at spawn waiting till the Ddosser gets offline to play. Is that Fair?? No!

Another issue i would like to announce is that many players ( i will not share names ) have been intimidating their enemies by doing a "dox" on them. This shows all of the players information including address, telephone number, and even pictures of family members and such. This is not only unethical but also can be Cyber Bullying or in other words "Stalking". I feel this is highly inaupropiate and this should be stopped imediately. This has been happening on OP and PRISON. Hopefully something can be done by both of these issues.
    Thank You <3

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a plugin on the server that will prevent players from being DoS/DDoS'd as that does not happen through the server but instead just through the internet in general. Also, many of the players whom claim to get "DDoS'd all the time" simply have slower internet that gets timeout errors upon some lag spikes.

Haven't really heard of much of that going on, however, I'm assuming that it would likely be done over channels other than directly on the server. Unfortunately, there is no way to prove that a Skype account (or whatever medium is being used) actually belongs to the player in question.

My recommendation is that you use a VPN. I use PIA, which is super fast and trustworthy.

From where I live, people who ddos another can be jailed. But I'm not sure if there are similar consequences to ddos

Having to use a VPN to play a "family-friendly" server is stupid.

Just saying if you don't give out your skype to random people only to your friends this wouldn't happen it's the most simplest way and it's free

Its not only about skype ... They can even find without using it ... There are many ways , so VPN is kind of a must ... I don't know what the situation is on OP right now , but when i was playing , i almost never got DDoS attacks ...

    I recommend you getting Crimestar,
It prevents you getting DoS or DDoSed.
It has a DDoS Radar just encase if people DoS you in time.
    And Computer Checker
VPN's and PIA Don't work, Goodluck

I thought it was a surpassing of a $5000 damage limit that made it illegal or no?

    Some resolvers show IP History

I also use PIA, it's great, but you can never be safe.

My suggestion is, if you know that someone is capable of DDoSing and is not afraid to do so, it's better not to speak to them or annoy them. Also if you are about to 1v1 and the person is taking ages, don't 1v1, they are most likely opening their booter after finding you on Skype, or simply don't give out your Skype to strangers...
