If you are reading this, then you are most likely interested in joining the build team. There has been a ton have forum activity and interest in becoming a member of the build team. This thread covers some of the questions you may have before posting pics in this section of the forums, as well as some other KEY INFORMATION that is critical before joining the build team. SECTION 1 - CURRENT BUILD TEAM MEMBERS: The minetime build team is constructed with exceptional builders from all over, some who or have built with the Hive, Mithrintia and Gazamo. At the moment, these are the members of the build team Mayomatt915 (Head-Builder/Recruitment) H3vah (Head-Builder/Recruitment) Realnickinator (Builder/Recruitment) Superarragon7 (Builder) Daelwolf (Builder) NuggetsGamertag (Not-Active) WanderingGambler (Not-Active) Fox07 (Not-Active) Note: Realnickinator is currently in active, and is usually head of the build team. He will be returning soon, and until then, h3vah and I have taken over the Head Builder position. Note: The previous head builder- Kyleep- has been banned, and is no longer a builder. HEAD BUILDERS- Lead projects for the team. At the time of writing this, the current project has been new infection maps for the minetime infection server. Head Builders lead these projects, make sure all maps are being built smoothly, and give opinions on the builds. The Head Builder alerts the owner, Collinpotato, when maps are ready to be released. Head builders are responsible for advertising new builds that will be coming for the server. Head Builders also build maps for the server. RECRUITMENT- Recruiters look at the builds that YOU GUYS post in the build section of the forums. Although all members of the build team can look at your builds here, only the recruiters can recruit you onto the build team. The last recruiter, Kyleep, was banned, so there are now 2 new recruiters. BUILDERS- They build for the server. They build maps for things like infection, and survival games. They can build spawns for servers that might need them. When turned into a full Minetime build team member, they are given the prefix on ALL minetime servers (after a creation of theirs is added to minetime) NOT ACTIVE- A builder that is still whitelisted on the build team server, but has not been around for a long time. SECTION 2- PERKS OF BEING A BUILDER This question is asked frequently. "(so and so) can you (do this)" Here is the answer to that question: BUILD TEAM MEMBERS GET THE SAME PERMISSIONS AS THE PREVIOUS RANK THEY WERE BEFORE. In other words: If you payed for the admin rank, and became a build team members, you would have the SAME PERMS as the admin rank. If you are default (like me) you get all of the same perms as the default rank. Please note before you apply that Build team members do not get any extra permissions on any of the servers. Builders of the mine time build team get whitelisted to the minetime build team server, this is where all of the creations for everything ever on minetime is made. You will also get OP on the build team server after proving that you can be trusted with such a responsibility. SECTION 3- BECOMING A BUILDER This is easily the most important section of this thread, so please read this carefully. As much as we would like to accept EVERYONE who applies for builder, we can only pick a select few to come build with us. The team, as stated above, is built by exceptional builders who have a lot of experience with building for different people, and we expect nothing different from those who apply. We are looking for multiple things when choosing a builder: 1) Exceptional Builder: We want people who can prove that they are an above average builder. We try our hardest in the build team make sure all of our builds are good example of the three main concepts of building - Depth, Detail and Variation. We want to make sure that the person we are recruiting has knowledge of those keys. The reason being that everything you build on the build team server could eventually be added for 1,000+ people to play. 2) A Good Reputation: Have you been banned on minetime before? Do you have more dislikes on the forums than you do likes? Are you known for being a bad example somewhere in the server? Are immature? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, than you might want to reconsider becoming a builder on the team. We do not want our members being all like "OMG YOU SUCK, GO DIE IN A HOLE" Which brings us to our next expectation: 3) A Good Personality: We do like people who are easy to talk to. Its not fun when members of a build team are like "OMG YOU SUCK, GO DIE IN A HOLE" so we expect you to be nice to all members, and open to suggestions and constructive criticism. If you think you have those 3 keys then read this next part: MAYO HOW DO I PHYSICALLY APPLY FOR THE BUILD TEAM? Follow these guidelines: 1) Build something amazingly amazing that is so amazing that it's amazing. 2) Use imgur or some other photo sharing website to get a url for your pictures 3) Post your builds in the BUILD SECTION OF THE FORUMS (Or else you will die) 4) Tag either Mayo915 or h3vah by adding a @ <---- sign at the beginning of a name. When you do that, the member with that name will get a notification saying that you have tagged them. 5) Wait for a response, get feedback. OR: 1) Go on the minetime creative server 2) Build something amazingly amazing that is so amazing that it's amazing. 3) Wait for somebody with the [MINETIME BUILD TEAM] smexy prefix to get on. 4) Ask them to come see your build (BUT DONT BOTHER THEM IF THEY ARE BUSY) <-- or else they will eat you. 5) Get feedback. OR: 1) On the minetime website, if there are applications available, make a build team application. CURRENT STATE: OFFLINE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU ATTEMPT TO STEAL A BUILD OFF OF THE INTERNET, YOUR "APPLICATION" WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE REJECTED, AND YOU WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU APPLY. I am active on infection, creative, and the build team server (which is the most important) - only 4 members out of the many are active on the build server.
Mayo is an outstanding builder who has proven she is more than capable of handling the build team, even if for only a short time. I see Mayo on a lot. If you don't, maybe you're just not on when she is.
I'm deleting all comments about the banning of kyleep. @H3vah and @Mayo915 are head-builders until @RealNickonator returns. They may even stay head-builder. I was part of the build team when Nick was active... I helped build the SG map when they were new.... I know nick. I have is skype. He is gone. I have been on longer than kyleep was. We aren't discussing this anymore. Nick wouldn't be able to run the build team right now because he is doing something. Me and h3vah are replacements until he gets back. + It doesn't really concern anyone who isn't in the build team who's head builder or not.
I would just like to state, Head builder doesn't really matter in the team, Its not much of an organized team... its just H3vah and Mayo pumping out maps for the server, to be honest. I think the only other person building maps right now is me, or maybe daelwolf. And my map isn't for infection either, Its for SG.
