Hello, minetimers. Today I discovered an bug in the forums which could be used against someone. The bug is a simple one. When you Quote a user, you see {Quote} Message {Quote}. The quote is provided above your response. You could easily edit the message to say whatever you want, and they would get the blame for it. Ex. Uneditied message : {Quote} Hey, what's up {Quote} Edited message : {Quote} Loser {Quote} I have tested this out myself and it does work. I believe this needs to be fixed, or else some people could use this against people.
This isn't really a bug. We do know that you can edit it to say anything but it's not that hard to look back a little bit to see if the player actually said it.
We could easily tell if you edited the quote by looking at the original post. We could also tell if the original poster edited what they said after you quoted them. We could also see what the post was before it was edited. (In case someone says something bad then tries to edit their post before staff sees it)
We can also see that. And see what it was before it was deleted. If you are going to do something wrong, there's no hiding it from the staff, so just don't do it.
All I am saying is that it's possible to use this against someone. I am not saying it is fool - proof.
It is impossible to get someone successfully punished by using this. Staff will easily be able to see right through it. Even most players would be able to tell it was fake.
