What's DDoS and DoS?

DDoS'ing is shutting off someone else's router/internet through their ip remotely, and DoS? I don't have a clue what that is.

 

DDoS- Distributed denial of service

• Two or more people send large packets of information to your router, subsequently shutting it down.

DoS- Denial of service

• One person sends large packets of information to your router, subsequently shutting it down.

 

Well the first one isn't exactly completely right. A distributed DOS attack can also be the work of tons of "bot" computers that the attacker has access to (not legally).

Yeah, I was going to say that I should check Wikipedia, but I thought thatt Google would be more un-vauge. Also, I just spelled vauge wrong, and un-vauge isn't a thing. I still don't know how to spell vauge, xD.

I made a forum post a while ago explaining how to stop DDoS and DoS a while back. Also, the way DDos and DoS (Distributed/Non-Distibuted Denial of Service Attacks) works is that the attacker will usually ping the victim with a large packet of useless information over and over again, essentially overloading the router's memory and buffer, temporarily shutting down the wireless.
